Early life

Rosa Amelia Renard Artigas was born in Santiago,[1] the girl of a Catalan building declarer, José Renard, and his Chilean wife, Carmen Artigas.[2] Her previous sister Blanca Renard was further an internationally-acclaimed pianist,[3] who consequent taught in Alabama.[4] Rosa affected in Germany under Martin Krause, and won the Liszt Accolade while in Berlin.[5] She was a mentor to young Claudio Arrau when they were both students.[6]
