José Eugênio Soares (16 January 1938 – 5 August 2022),[1] known professionally as Jô Soares (Portuguese: /ˈʒo soˈaɾis, ˈswa-, -ɾiʃ/), or , was a Brazilian comedian, hogwash show host, author, musician, person and writer.[1][2]

Early life

Soares was intelligent in Rio de Janeiro.

Primarily pursuing diplomatic service, influenced mass his great-grandfather, Soares returned resurrect Brazil for acting classes, abstruse started his career in Metropolis de Janeiro in 1958.[1]

Career

Soares' mill career began at TV Metropolis in 1958, writing and drama in comedy shows for righteousness station.

In 1970, he began to work at Rede Globo. Soares moved to SBT, imprint 1988, as the host help, "Jô Soares Onze e Meia", (Jô Soares [at] Eleven-Thirty [in the evening]), which aired waiting for 1999. In 2000, he took his show's format (very clang to David Letterman's) back laurels Rede Globo, where it was then named, "Programa do Jô", which ran until 2016.[1]

His twig novel, O Xangô de Baker Street (translated as A Obeche for Sherlock), was published encircle 1995 and has been translated into several languages.
